Question 1: (Raul) – What is the biggest misconception about online dating?

Although many people think that online dating is only for casual hookups like Tinder. This could not be further from the truth. Yes, Tinder is a place where you can swipe, meet up, and have hot sex but if you are actively and strategically dating online, the likelihood of you finding your person is going to be much better than meeting someone in person. Online dating allows you to be very detailed in what you are looking for. If you get crystal clear on your dating plan, then it can 100% be somewhere that you find love.

Question 2: (J.C.) – How has the perception of beauty changed with social media?

Social media has complicated things but it has also added value to our lives. Unfortunately, there are so many filters today and although they are fun, they take away from who you are and what you really look like. Social media has also given us the perception that we have to be perfect and look like all of the models. This takes away from the reality of things and has definitely amplified the beauty industry and standards. Looks are important but they are not everything.

Question 3: (Rob) – Can you really find love on online dating apps?

You can find love on online dating apps. It is the modern way of dating and it is one of the best ways because there are a lot more people on there. When you start to strategically date, that is when you will find your person. You have to create your dating profile like you are going on an interview because your first impression will set you up for success.

Remember that it is not only your pictures that matter, put time into your profile. Create a great description, talk about the things you love, your values, your beliefs, your goals, and who you are looking for. Do not be vague in your bio, do not use bad pictures, and do not lie about who you are or what you are looking for. If you are looking for a lasting relationship, put in the effort!

Question 4: (Joe) – What is the most important aspect of maintaining a healthy relationship?

Communication is the most important aspect of any relationship! If you come to someone with “I” statements, such as “I am sad or I feel hurt” that opens up a better conversation than “You made me feel hurt” because then that person is going to shut down. You want to make sure that the other person does not feel attacked. Communication is key in any healthy relationship.

Question 5: (Adam) – How can you handle jealousy in a relationship?

If you or your partner are struggling with jealousy, you need to be open and honest while addressing it. Discuss why you are feeling jealous calmly and constructively so that you can find a solution. If someone gets jealous, it is their own insecurities and it is not about you making them jealous. You cannot control anyone’s feelings so helping them to dig deeper into why they feel insecure will be helpful. Most times, jealousy comes from old trauma and that needs to be addressed.

Question 6: (Jimmy) – What is the best advice for someone struggling with their image?

Being an image consultant for 17 years, I have seen the ins and outs of people’s view of themselves not feeling worthy or beautiful. This is all about focusing on self-love and acceptance. We need to know that we are never going to stay the same, we are always aging. If you are working on yourself, mentally, physically, and spiritually, then you should feel good no matter how you look. Focus on self-love and acceptance and celebrate your unique qualities that nobody has, whether physical or internal. When we are happy on the inside, we shine bright on the outside so remember to focus on that.

Question 7: (Ben) – Is monogamy outdated?

Monogamy is not outdated but it is a questionable relationship type these days. For one, people are now more verbal about what they want in a relationship. Many people are exploring poly, monogamish, and a plethora of other relationship types. This really comes down to your values and agreements in the relationship. If it is consensual and fulfilling for both involved, then that is all that matters. Monogamy is for some people and not for others, so keep in mind that it is not the only relationship style.

Question 8: (Jared) – How can you spice up your sex life?

First, you can communicate with your partner about your wants, desires, boundaries, and fantasies in the bedroom. This can lead to sexual exploration and revitalization. You can open up to monogamish which means you stay with your partner but explore others as well. You can try out new toys, different kinks, or you can watch porn together. Even being romantic could spice things up. Take a quick vacation for the weekend to a surprising place and make it mysterious. You can write down a list of what you like or desire and have your partner do the same and then you can explore that with each other to see if there is any overlap!
